In April 2015, St. Vincent dePaul Thift-store organization held their second Metamorphose Designer Challenge. This challenge was to focus on sustainable clothing consumption with the thought of ‘zero waste’ in mind.
This year participants had 30 minutes to choose from a HUGE scrap-fabric pile (that was round up and donated by the San Francisco garment district), and were challenged to create three complete looks. Using the fabric pieces they chose, a swimwear look, an evening-wear look, and a tw0-piece separates look were to be created and shown at a runway competition.
Here are the three looks Fräulein Couture created with scraps of fabric. She took home 4 awards!!! Including First Place and People’s Choice in the Swimwear category AND First Place and People’s Choice in the Evening Wear category!
